Hamilton, ON - The Gryphons Women's Lacrosse team came close to securing their second victory of the season on Thanksgiving Sunday (Oct. 17), but in the end the Gryphons fell just short as the Trent Excalibur came out on top of a 9-7 score line. With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 1-10 on the season.
After trailing 7-2 at halftime, the Gryphons showed tremendous character to battle back in the second half where they outscored Trent 5-2. Thanks to some strong play at both ends of the field, coupled with some well-placed shots, allowed the Gryphons to mount a significant comeback before running out of time to find the tying goal.
Player of the Game honours went to rookie
Charly Guatto who was a huge part of Guelph's attack thanks to her ability to consistently work her way into open spaces in the opposition's fan. Â
Next up for the Gryphons, a matchup with McMaster in Hamilton on Wednesday, October 14.
