Box Score North Bay, Ont. – The Gryphons men's volleyball team lost in straight sets to the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday afternoon in North Bay. Set scores were 16-25, 23-25, 22-25. With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 8-5 while Nipissing improves to 4-9.
Despite the fact that the Gryphons were significantly higher in the standings than Nipissing coming into the match, Saturday's matchup in North Bay was always going to prove to be a tough challenge. In their earlier meeting this season, Guelph's home opener back on October 24
th, it took the Gryphons five sets to narrowly defeat Nipissing. Unfortunately this time around, the Gryphons were unable to play up to their potential and never recovered after a slow start in the opening set.

Patrick Strzalkowski (St. Catherine's, ON) led the way for the Gryphs with a pair of service aces and a team high 11 points.
The Gryphons do not have much time to dwell on this loss as they are right back in action again on Sunday as they travel from North Bay to Toronto to take on the York Lions (7-6) who sit just below them in the OUA standings. That match will get underway at 4pm.
