GUELPH, Ont. – The Guelph Gryphons men's volleyball team has earned home-court advantage for the OUA quarterfinals. The playoff-bound Gryphons closed out their 2025-26 regular season schedule with back-to-back home wins over the Waterloo Warriors on Friday night (Feb. 13) and Saturday night (Feb. 14). The Gryphons end the 20-game regular season with a record of 14-6, good for 4th-place in the 13-team OUA standings. The No. 4-seeded Gryphons will now host the No. 5-seeded Western Mustangs on Friday, Nov. 20 in an OUA quarterfinal matchup.
Game 1 (Friday, Feb. 13) – Gryphons win five-setter over Warriors on Friday night
On Friday night at the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre, the Gryphons hosted the Waterloo Warriors, with the Gryphons using a balanced attack to come out on top in five sets, with set scores of 25-23, 18-25, 25-20, 19-25 & 15-11. The victory pushed Guelph's overall win streak to six, while improving their season record to 13-6.
Game 2 (Saturday, Feb. 14) – Gryphons close out regular season with four-set win over Waterloo
On Saturday night (Feb. 14), the scenario was clear for the Gryphons men's volleyball team: win, and earn home-court advantage in the opening round of playoffs. The Gryphons made sure to not let the opportunity to go waste, winning in four sets, with set scores of 18-25, 25-16, 25-22 & 25-14.
Killian Donovan led the way (20.5 points, 18 kills), with Guelph earning the right to play on home court on Feb. 20 in the OUA quarterfinals where they will host the Western Mustangs. Saturday night's game versus Waterloo also served as Guelph's 'Senior Night' game, with four graduating student-athletes (

Daniel Pickett,
Jacob Schweyer and
Liam Kinahan) honoured during pre-game ceremonies.
