Gryphons settle for draw after two late goals by Laurier

Waterloo, Ont. - The Gryphon men's soccer team took a 2-0 lead late into regulation before conceding a pair of goals to Laurier in the 88th and 90th minute as the match finished in a 2-2 draw on Wednesday in Waterloo.

Jared Agyemang (Brampton, Ont.) opened the scoring in the 62nd minute and in doing so, put his name in the U of G record books. For Agyemang, it was his 1200616th goal of the season, tying him with Robbie Murphy for the school's all-time single season record for goals scored. Agyemang currently has 29 in his career.
Second year midfielder Paris Roserie (Mississauga, Ont.) would make it 2-0 Guelph with his second goal of the season. But a pair of late goals from Justin Manning and Nikola Miokovic would bring Laurier even as the two teams would each leave with a point.

Benjamin Caranci (Richmond Hill, Ont.), made two saves in goal for Guelph.

Next up for the Gryphon men's soccer team, a trip to London to take on the Western Mustangs on Saturday (Oct. 18). The Gryphons will close out the regular season at home on Sunday (Oct. 19) at 3:15 p.m. at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.

The Gryphons currently sit comfortably in third place in the OUA West with an 8-2-4 regular season record. Top six teams in each conference qualify for the post-season.
