After suffering a dismal 14-6 loss to Western last Friday night, the men's lacrosse team bounced back today to beat Laurentian 19-8 at home.
The Gryphons score early and often jumping out to a 7-0 first quarter lead. It wasn't until hallway through the second quarter with Guelph leading 10-0 that Laurentian was able to score.  The Gryphons allowed their opponent 3 unanswered goals before scoring 4 more of their own to stretch their lead to 14-3 at the half.
The flow of the game was completed disrupted by penalties in the second half with both teams taking an inordinate number of calls. As a result, the game deteriorated into a less than full strength match that was not pleasing to watch. The teams traded 5 goals each in the second half as Guelph went on to win 19-8.Â
All three Gryphon goaltenders saw time, with Jeremy Snider (Kitchener, ON) and Mike Lalani (Guelph, ON) splitting duties in the first half while Tyler MacKendrick (Whitby, ON) stepped between the pipes for the second half.
After this weekend's play the Gryphons are 8-2 on the season. The Gryphons next take the field at home on Saturday, Oct. 19 when then host Brock. Game time is 1 pm.
