The Gryphon men's lacrosse team closed out their regular season today (Oct.21) with a 23-7 win over Laurentian.
The win gives the Gryphons a 10-2 record and second place in the West division. Mike Burke (Caledon,ON) had an 11 point day tallying eight goals and three assists. Eric Hubert (Mississauga, ON) scored twice and had six helpers. Jordan Daradick (Welland, ON) had three and three, Connor Deuchars (Toronto, ON) had two and two and Cutis Knight (Oshawa, ON) scored two goals and an assist.
Andrew Stoner (Orangeville, ON) added three, Jordan Costa (Mississauga,ON) had two, while Ben Vangalen (Orangeville,ON), Taylor Brown (Peterborough, ON), and Michael Clarke (Hamilton, ON) had one apiece. The Gryphons scored early and never looked back against Laurentian. Eight Gryphons figured into the scoring as Guelph dominated their opponent both offensively and defensively.
The Gryphons now wait for the results from other games in the league to determine who their opponent will be next Saturday, October 27, as they at host in the first round of the playoffs.
