The weather in Ottawa for the OUA Nordic Skiing Championships was inconsistent all weekend long. Gryphons skiier Ashley Huet was the exact opposite. The fourth year Nordic Skiier earns Gryphon Athlete of the Week honours after leading the Gryphons women's team to a Bronze medal finish at the 2016 OUA Nordic Skiing Championships. Huet was named an OUA All-Star and helped the Gryphons reach the podium at the OUA's for the first time in four years.
In cold temperatures on Friday (Feb. 19), Huet finished 10th out of a field of 46 in the women's 7.5km interval. In rainy conditions on Saturday, she finished 5th as part of a trio in the women's 3x2.7km relay. In wet, sticky snowfall on Sunday, Ashley earned a 9th place finish in a field of 50 in the women's 10km mass start. Huet was the only Gryphon, on either the men's or women's side, to earn OUA All-Star honours.
