This past weekend (Saturday, January 23), the University of Guelph hosted the last varsity meet of the season before the OUA championships Feb 11-13 at the University of Western Ontario. Second year breaststroke specialist Leili Tilvaldyeva was on the podium with two 1st place finishes in the 100m and 200m breaststroke events, and a 2nd place finish in the 50m event, missing 1st place by the slim margin of 8/100ths of a second.

Leila swam to a new best time in the 200 breaststroke, and in the same race also qualified for the 2016 Olympic trials which will take place at the Toronto Pan Am pool second week of April. Tilvaldyeva has now qualified for the CIS championships in the 3 breaststroke events.
