Guelph defenceman Jessica Pellegrino earns Gryphon Athlete of the Week honours after another strong performance in a low scoring OUA Championship game against Western (the Mustangs won 2-0). Pellegrino has provided consistent play on the Gryphon blueline all season long and has developed into one of the team's most reliable players. While the second year Cambridge native would be considered a steady "stay-at-home" defenceman, she has also chipped in on offence occassionally, recording nine assists during the regular season to finish second on the team in scoring amongst defencemen.  Pellegrino stands at 5-foot-5 but plays at an even bigger size, as she provides the Gryphons with an impressive, physical presence on the back end.
