This past week (Feb. 27-28) at the CIS Wrestling Championships in Edmonton, second year athlete Alison Carrow established herself as one the top female wrestlers in the country with several dominating performances that ultimately resulted in her winning a gold medal in the 67kg weight class. Alison, whose father Gavin was an outstanding wrestler for the Gryphons in the 1980's and captured a CIS gold medal of his own, followed in her father's footsteps by only having two points scored against her the entire event while winning all four of her matches. This marks the second time this season Alison has been named Gryphon Athlete of the Week as she also claimed the honour two weeks ago after winning a gold medal at the OUA Championships.
