Rhiannon Digweed is a first year student-athlete from Russell, Ontario. She competed at the 48-kilogram weight class on Saturday (Dec. 6) at the York Open. Rhiannon impressed by earning a silver medal, with her only loss coming versus an older Guelph Wrestling Club athlete. She picked up a win in her first match after pinning her opponent from Brock. Her second match resulted in another decisive victory as she took down her opponent from Western by a score of 15-4. Everyone that Rhiannon competed against at the York Open was older than her, but Rhiannon's never-give-up attitude and perfect technique were on full display as the Gryphon rookie impressed in all of her matches.
