Kelsey Gsell, a fourth year wrestler from Saskatoon, SK was crowned a CIS champion at the 2014 CIS Championships this past weekend hosted by the University of New Brunswick. She won her first ever CIS title in the women’s 82 kilogram weight class, defeating Madison Beblow of Alberta and was named a CIS First-Team All-Canadian. En route to the title she went undefeated without a single point scored on her, an impressive feat on the national stage. 
 
The Human Kinetics student’s progress and climb toward the top of the podium has been inspirational. As a rookie she finished fifth at nationals. The following year she earned a spot on the podium with a bronze (2011-12), followed that up with a silver last season (2012-13) and then capped off her career with a golden performance this season.
