Recorded five points in two games this past weekend as the Gryphons women's hockey team earned a pair of road wins over Laurier and Waterloo to improve to 15-2-3 on the season. On Saturday (Jan. 31), Pinkerton assisted on the game-winning goal against OUA rival Laurier, setting up Katie Mora in the second period to break a 1-1 tie. The Gryphons would go on to win the game 4-1. On Sunday (Feb. 1), the Oshawa native had two goals and two assists as the Gryphons scored a season-high seven goals in a 7-0 win over the Waterloo Warriors. The second of Jessica's two goals came thanks to some great determination from the assistant captain. After having her glove slashed off by a defender, Pinkerton would go on to score with one bare hand on the stick. It was her eighth goal of the season, tying her for the team lead. The fourth year centre stepped up and provided great leadership during the Gryphons recent four game road trip, recording at least one point in every game as the Gryphons went a perfect 4-0.  The two wins this past weekend moved the Gryphons up to 33 points on the season, putting them just two points behind the Western Mustangs (16-1-3) for top spot in the OUA. The Gryphons and Mustangs will square off on Saturday, February 7th at 2pm at the Gryphon Centre.
