Ross Proudfoot of Sudbury, Ont. won the 1500 and 3000 metre races at the McGill Team Challenge this past weekend. In the process the fourth-year broke the fieldhouse records in both events, a fieldhouse that has previously held numerous CIS Championships.
 
The Human Kinetic major’s 3000 metre run broke the fieldhouse record previously held by Olympian Reid Coolsaet and the Meet Record held by Olympian Alex Genest. His time of 3:44.08 in the 1500 metres currently ranks him 7th in the world.
 
The Gryphons men’s track team is currently ranked No. 3 in the country and will be back in action this week at the York Open.
