EVAN VAN MOERKERKE, SWIMMING
Rookie sensation Evan Van Moerkerke made quite the splash this past weekend at the 2013 OUA Swimming Championships in Toronto.  He was named the male rookie of the meet following first place finishes in the 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle events.  He also earned a bronze in the 100m backstroke. A native of Tillsonburg, Ont., Van Moerkerke broke the OUA record in the 100m free with a blazing 49.1 swim beating out the old record held by 2-time Olympian Colin Russell. He is now off to the CIS Swimming Championships next week in Calgary.
