Jenny Vaughan returns to the Gryphons in 2017-18 for her third season as part of the coaching staff of the University of Guelph's women's basketball team. Jenny graduated from Western University with a B.A in Kinesiology '13 and B.Ed from Althouse Teachers College '14. She was team captain during her four years at a Western where she was a 3-time First team OUA all-star, Second team All-Canadian ('13), First team All-Canadian ('14) and OUA Player of the Year ('14). Prior to attending Western she played at Denver University where she had a full D1 scholarship.
Jenny was a member of the Canadian Jr. National team from 2008-2009. She was the starting point guard at the 2009 World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand where the team finished 4th place in the world. She was also apart of Canada's National Elite Development Academy from 2006-2008 where Mark Walton was her head coach and lead the team to many victories and success on various international tours.
During high school, she was a four year member of the Ontario Provincial team where she earned two National gold medals and tournament MVP in 2007. She is a proud graduate of Hamilton's St. Mary Catholic Secondary School where she was an OFAA gold medalist in both basketball and soccer.
As a young coach, she is looking forward to learning from experienced head coach Mark Walton and help the team continue to improve.
