Born and raised in Guelph, Jenifer went to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic High School where she ran track and field and played both volleyball and basketball. She was a three time District 10 All-Star and helped her team to the finals of CWOSA in her grade 12 year. She was nominated Senior Athlete of the year in 2001 and was also on the academic honour roll.

Jen was heavily recruited by Canadian and American Universities for basketball eventually deciding on Furman University in South Carolina. She was a Health and Exercise Science major at Furman and graduated in 2005 on the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll. She was elected to the Southern Conference All-star team 3 out of the 4 seasons at Furman and named team Captain her senior year.

Shorty after her final year at Furman, Jen was recruited by UMANA Reyer Venezia in Venice, Italy. She played for Venice from 2005-2010 where she participated in the Italian League aswell as Euro League. In 2008 she helped her team in winning the Super Cup aswell as the Italian Cup titles.  

In 2010 she was a free agent and changed teams to Famila Schio in Schio, Italy where she won her first Italian League Championship title. She stayed in Schio until 2014 and over the 4 years won 3 Italian Cup titles, 3 Super Cups and 3 Italian League Championship titles. She was nominated League MVP for the 2012/2013 season. 

In 2014, yet again a free agent, Jen changed teams again and moved to Ragusa, Sicily. She played as team Captain in her final year (2015/16) and won yet another Italian Cup title before deciding to retire and return to Canada. 

Being of Italian decent, while in Italy, Jenifer also had the honour of playing for the Italian National team. In the 2009 Mediterranean Games in Pescara, Jenifer helped her team to its first gold medal victory.Â
