2019-2020 President’s Trophy (Female): Alex Curran (Women's Volleyball)
Alex Curran, a fourth-year setter on the Gryphons women’s volleyball team, put together her latest standout season in what has become an already memorable Gryphon career.
For a third straight season, the Aurora, Ontario native was named an OUA West 1st-Team All-Star. Registering 630 assists in 2019-20, Curran led the OUA in the category, while finishing fourth in the province in assists per set with 8.75. Using a combination of her tremendous talent, work ethic and experience, Curran has been as dependable as they come taking the second touch and helped lead the Gryphons to an OUA bronze medal, their first podium appearance in nine seasons.
She accomplished all of this while excelling in the classroom, where she earned a 90% average over the fall and winter semesters while majoring in psychology.
2018-2019 President’s Trophy (Female): Zoe Sherar (T&F)

Zoe entered a new stratosphere as an athlete this season. The second-year Toronto, ON native swept the OUA and U SPORTS gold medals in the 300m event, establishing a new University of Guelph record in the latter race against the best in the country.
Zoe’s time of 37.79 seconds was the fifth fastest ever at the national meet and she added to her medal haul with OUA and U SPORTS gold as part of Guelph’s 4x200m relay team. Those groups broke the Canadian senior and U23 records, thanks in part to her incredible splits. Zoe was equally adept in the classroom where she maintained an 85.7 per cent average as an Economics major.
In November of 2019, the economics and geographic information systems major would go on to become just the third U of G student-athlete to be
named to the prestigious list of U SPORTS Top 8 Academic All-Canadians.

Sarah Hammond's success on the track in 2017-18 was mirrored in the classroom as an Applied Human Nutrition student. She maintained an average of 90.6 percent in the winter semester of 2017 and even improved on that at the start of her historic fourth year with an average of 91.4 per cent in the fall.
Hammond set that high standard despite the grueling year-round preparation required in track and field. In addition to being named the recipient of the President's Trophy, Hammond was also named the University of Guelph's 2017-18 Female Athlete of the Year after helping lead her team to a national title.
2016-2017 President’s Trophy (Female): Devon Stober (Rugby)
In her fifth and final year with the Gryphons, Devon Stober helped the women's rugby team to their first OUA title since her rookie campaign in 2012. She capped off her impressive career by earning recognition both as an OUA All-Star and a U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian.

In the classroom, the Agricultural Science major had an average of 88.2% during the 2015 winter semester. That average would climb even higher to 89.4% during the fall of 2015 semester.
