Ethan Garwe (Offence)
Ethan Garwe is this week's 'Offensive Player of the Game' following his breakout game against the McMaster Marauders. The second-year receiver from Whitby contributed to the team's lone touchdown of the game when he caught the deep pass from
Tristan Aboud, running past the defence and into the end zone. The 80-yd touchdown reception marked Garwe's first career OUA regular season touchdown. Garwe in the game had three receptions for a game-high 119 yards marking his first career 100-yard receiving game as a Gryphon. Garwe in his two games this season has 7 receptions for 166 yards and a touchdown.
Max Barber (Defence)
Fourth-year defensive lineman
Max Barber (Hamilton, ON) earns 'Defensive Player of the Game' honours as part of a Gryphon defence that limited the Marauders offensively. Barber, the management economics and finance major played a role on a Gryphon defensive line that was active throughout the game, assisting on 4 tackles and finishing the afternoon with 2 total tackles. Barber and the defence held the Marauders to 48 yards rushing and 328 total yards in the game.

Trey Thompson (Special Teams)
The Week 2 'Special Teams Player of the Game' is second-year kicker and punter
Trey Thompson. The punting from arts major from Kingston helped the Gryphons in the field position game during the entire afternoon. Thompson had 10 punts against McMaster, totalling 410 yards, averaging 41 yards-per-punt with two inside the 20. Thompson's 64 yard punt in the 4th quarter was his longest punt of the afternoon.
Trey Thompson also was perfect in the kicking game, making a PAT and a 42-yard field goal in the 3rd quarter to give his team the lead. Thompson has 15 punts on the season for 614 yards, averaging 40.9 yards-per-punt with 5 inside the 20.
