The Varsity Blues have had to run the gauntlet, facing four of the top six teams in the OUA standings so far this season, and now welcome an in-form Gryphons team. Toronto is in the middle of a tough stretch where they havve already faced Queen's, Western, Ottawa and Windsor with McMaster looming next week. Points have been at a premium this season for the U of T Varsity Blues, who have scored just 18 points through 4 games this season with 12 coming in their first game of the season. Kaleb O'Donoghue leads Toronto at quarterback and is completing 65.2% of his passes for 462 yards and has thrown a touchdown and interception. Denayden Lee-Daniel is Toronto's leading receiver with 14 receptions for 129 yards on the season. The Varsity Blues offence is averaging only 178.5 yards per game and will now face a stingy Gryphon defence. On the other side, the Toronto defence has given up the most yards per game with teams averaging 565.5 yards per game. The Guelph offence will arrive in Toronto averaging 475.2 yards per game. Defensive back Oskar McPhie leads the Toronto defence with 29 total tackles and 2 interceptions on the year.

Tristan Aboud vs Waterloo

Tristan Aboud and the Gryphon offence will look to continue the momentum after putting up 613 yards of total offence against the Waterloo Warriors last week. Aboud was sharp in the win, completing 25 of his 35 passes for 377 yards and 2 touchdowns. Aboud is currently 5th in the conference with 1,411 passing yards and tied for 3rd in the OUA with 12 passing touchdowns on the season. Willem Arseneau has been moving up the Gryphon leaderboard as he now sits in a tie for 5th (with former All-Canadian, Dave Irwin) in program history for most receiving yards in a career with 1,820 following his 8 reception, 144 yards game last week. Arseneau has been one of the top receivers in the conference this season with 24 receptions (6th in OUA) and 434 yards (4th in OUA).

Thompson currently leads the team with 25 total tackles and 2 sacks on the season. The standout sophomore is also the current OUA leader with 5 rushing touchdowns on the season. Thompson has rushed for 136 yards and also has a touchdown pass on the season after finding Justin Van Der Kooi in the end zone against Waterloo.
