THOROLD, Ont. – The No. 4 nationally ranked Guelph Gryphons women's hockey team suffered just their third regulation loss of the 2025-26 season on Thursday night at Canada Games Park in Thorold, with the Brock Badgers skating to a 1-0 victory over Guelph. The lone goal of the game came 3:01 into the 2nd period when Badgers second-year forward, Avery Diljee (Fergus, ON), beat Gryphons goalie
Alysse Wilkinson (Ottawa, ON) for the lone goal of the game. The Gryphons out-shot the Badgers, 29-26, on the night, but were unable to solve Brock goalie, Megan Thiessen. With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 19-3-3 on the season, while Brock improves to 12-11-2.
The Gryphons now sit tied for top spot in the
OUA West Division standings alongside the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks, with both teams deadlocked with 57 points on the season with just one game remaining in the regular season schedule. Fittingly, Guelph (19-3-3) and Laurier (20-4-1) will square off in the regular season finale on Saturday, February 14 at Sun Life Financial Arena at 7pm. The winner of Saturday night's head-to-head matchup between the Gryphons and Golden Hawks will secure home-ice advantage throughout the OUA playoffs as the top overall seed in the conference. Saturday night's marquee matchup in Waterloo can be seen live online at
