GUELPH, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphons men's soccer team earned a hard-fought point on Friday night (Oct. 9) at home, playing to a 1-1 draw with the McMaster Marauders. With the result, the Gryphons move to 3-4-3 (wins-losses-draws) on the season, while McMaster now sits at 6-3-2. Gryphons fifth-year forward,
Ambrose Tinmouth, scored his team-leading 8th goal of the season, with the 22-year-old from Comox, BC opening the scoring in the 68th minute. Tinmouth, a management economics and finance major at the University of Guelph, currently ranks 4th in the conference among the OUA's leading scorers with his 8 goals on the season. The lead would be short-lived for the Gryphons however, with McMaster answering three minutes later on a goal from Cristian Alfieri to level things at 1-1. The Gryphons now have just two games remaining in their regular season schedule, both against teams directly ahead of them in the crowded
OUA West Division standings. The Gryphons will return to action on Friday, Oct. 16 with a road trip to St. Catharines to face the Brock Badgers, before returning home on Sunday, Oct. 18 to close out the regular season schedule with a home game versus the Laurier Golden Hawks.
