GUELPH, Ont. – The Guelph Gryphons football team (1-4) will head to the nation's capital for the team's final road game of their 2025 regular season schedule, as they face the Carleton Ravens (2-2) on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 27) for a 4pm kickoff in Ottawa.

The Gryphons (1-4) conclude the road portion of their 2025 regular season schedule when they take on the Carleton Ravens, on the heels of a tough 25-15 loss at McMaster last weekend. With three games remaining in the regular season, the Gryphons do not have much margin for error as they look to make a late season push to secure a playoff spot (with 7 of the 11 teams in the conference reaching the playoffs).

The Carleton Ravens (2-2) had a massive offensive performance last week in their 48-36 victory over the York Lions led by QB Tristan Lefebvre. Lefebvre completed 24-29 passes for 498 yards and threw for four touchdowns in their win. The strength of the Ravens offence comes from their receiving corp, led by Tristan Ready. Ready on the season is currently 5th in the conference with 434 receiving yards and leads the OUA with a 21.7 yards per reception. Ready last week had 8 receptions for 221 yards and caught 2 touchdowns which included an 106-yard touchdown reception. Just behind him in 6th with 374 receiving yards is Frederick Hachey. Hachley is another key target for the Ravens who leads the team with three touchdown receptions. The Gryphons will need to also keep an eye on Dante Spadaccini who last week against the Lions caught 9 passes for 129 yards with a touchdown reception. The Ravens lead the conference averaging 371.3 passing yards per game. Linebacker Xavier Malone leads the Ravens defence with 23.5 tackles to go along with his 3.0 sacks (t-2nd in OUA).

For the Gryphons, third-year quarterback Tristan Aboud has racked up the yards this season as he currently ranks 2nd in the conference with 1,497 passing yards, averaging just under 300 passing yards per game. He will look to get into rhythm against a Ravens defence who sit at the bottom of the OUA, giving 38.8 points per game and allowing 577.8 yards per game. Despite the high yardage total for the Guelph offence, it has not translated into points as they currently average 26.0 points per game (7th in OUA). The Gryphons have seen Harry Varty and Jarod Tessier emerge as reliable targets on the outside as both receivers are 8th in the conference with 321 receiving yards. Donavin Milloy returned to the Gryphon backfield last week as he'll look to get going after being held in check by McMaster. A bright spot for the team has been the Gryphon defence, which has stepped up in recent weeks holding the opposition to under 400 yards per game led by their linebacking duo of Braeden MacDougall and Jevaun Jacobsen. MacDougall currently leads the team with 19.5 tackles while Jacobsen is 2nd with 18.0 tackles to go along with team leading 2.0 sacks.

The Gryphons and Ravens met last season in Week 1 from Guelph's Alumni Stadium where the Gryphons came away with 38-25 win. The last visit to the nation's capital for the Gryphons was on October 21, 2023, in their final game of the season where the Ravens eliminated Guelph from the postseason in a 29-27 win.
