WSCR RECAP: Olivia Rizakos Hat Trick Leads Gryphons to 3-1 Win Over McMaster

GUELPH, Ont. - Gryphons women's soccer captain, Olivia Rizakos, recorded a hat trick on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 14, 2025) to help lead the Gryphons to a 4-1 home win over the McMaster Marauders. Rizakos, a fourth-year psychology major from Toronto, opened the scoring just two minutes into play, before adding a pair of second half goals from the penalty spot, to help the No. 10 nationally-ranked Gryphons improve to 5-0-1 (wins-losses-draws) on the season. Rizakos now has 6 goals on the 2025 season, tying her for top spot in the OUA in goals scored alongside the University of Toronto's, Anne Yeomans. Rounding out the scoring for the Gryphons on Sunday afternoon was 2024 U SPORTS All-Canadian, Elise Bell, whose goal in the 55' minute put the Gryphons up 2-1 and ultimately proved to be the game-winner. The Gryphons (5-0-1) will return to action on Monday, September 22 for a Monday night trip to York University to face the York Lions (1-2-2), with kickoff set for 6pm.
