Genna Villella Named 2025 Recipient of the Tom Kendall Staff Development Award

The Department of Athletics is proud to announce that this year's Tom Kendall Staff Development Award has been awarded to Genna Villella, a dedicated leader whose contributions enhance the experience of staff and students in Athletics.

As Supervisor of Events, Promotions, and Community Relations, she began her career here as an undergraduate part-time student staff member. Over the years, she has grown into a respected and knowledgeable leader in sport facility operations and event management, all while embodying the values of The Gryphon Way.

Her nominators describe her as industrious, capable, and a generous team player who continuously reflects on how she can contribute to the greater good. Whether she's leading from the front or working alongside her team, Genna is known for her calm, focused presence and her unwavering support for others.

As a supervisor, Genna is a professional leader with a human-centered approach. Her background in social work and human development complements her operational skills, allowing her to build trust, share wisdom, and cultivate an environment where her team feels empowered to grow with confidence and enthusiasm.
