TORONTO, Ont. – A successful weekend in Toronto saw the Gryphons women's volleyball pick up wins on back-to-back nights at the Mattamy Athletic Centre, defeating the TMU Bold in straight sets on both Friday (Jan. 24) and Saturday (Jan. 25). The Gryphons were led on Friday night by second-year middle blocker,
Alexandra Nicholson-Clarke and first-year middle blocker
Brooke Preszcator, each of whom had 14.5 points. On Saturday (Jan. 25), the Gryphons turned to left side,
Jordan Vang (Kitchener, ON), who tallied a team-high 15.5 points (14 kills), with teammates
Briar Crerar (11 kills, 16 digs) and
Alexa Shields (38 assists, 15 digs) helping round out another strong Gryphon performance in a 25-20, 25-19 & 28-26 victory. With the two wins over the weekend, the Gryphons improve to 4-12 on the season while the TMU Bold fall to 3-11. The Gryphons now have four games remaining in their 2024-25 OUA regular season schedule and return to the provincial capital next weekend (Jan. 31 and Feb. 1) for a pair of road games at the University of Toronto to face the Varsity Blues (7-7).
