GUELPH, Ont. - The Gryphons men's soccer team continued their undefeated start to the 2024 OUA regular season, recording a third consecutive win to begin the season, winning 2-0 over the Algoma Thunderbirds on Friday night (Sept. 6) at the Gryphon Soccer Complex. 

Standout defender, Peyton Ferdinand (Ottawa, ON) opened the scoring for the Gryphons in the 57' minute with his first of the season. Team captain and 2023 OUA First Team All-Star, Gray Yates, would secure all three points for the Gryphons with his first goal of the 2024 campaign in the 90' minute to extend the Gryphon lead to 2-0. Rookie goalkeeper Nicholas Potalivo (Brampton, ON) picked up the clean sheet, with the Gryphons improving to 3-0-0 on the season.

The Gryphons will look to make it four straight wins to begin the season, when they return to action next Friday (Sept. 13) with a home matchup against the No. 5-ranked team in the country with the York Lions set to visit the Gryphon Soccer Complex.
