GUELPH, Ont. – Gryphons fourth-year fullback,
Michael Andoga, scored the first two goals of his OUA career, lifting the Gryphons men's soccer team to a 2-1 home win over the Waterloo Warriors on Thursday night (Aug. 29) at the University of Guelph's Gryphon Soccer Complex.
Andoga, a human kinetics major from Hamilton, opened the scoring in the 35th minute with his first career goal, to give the host Gryphons a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. After the Warriors equalized in the 55th minute with a goal from James Arango, it would be Andoga again coming through, scoring the match-winner in the 67th minute, with both goals assisted by
Ambrose Tinmouth.
The Gryphons (1-0-0) will look to carry the momentum from their season-opening win into the weekend, with a road trip to Windsor up next, as the Gryphons prepare to face the Lancers on Sunday, Sept. 1 at the University of Windsor. Kick off is set for 4:15pm and
