GUELPH, Ont. – The Gryphons men's volleyball team extends their win streak to four matches as they came way with a weekend sweep over the RMC Paladins in back-to-back nights at the Guelph Gryphons Athletic Centre on Friday (Nov. 22) and Saturday (Nov. 23). Guelph was pushed in the opening match by RMC on Friday night in a four set affair. The first three sets of the match were tightly contested between the two sides as they split the opening two sets. The third set came down to the wire before the Gryphs closed out the set winning five of the final six points for the 25-20 set win. Guelph would put together their best set of the match to in the fourth set to seal the victory. The set scores in the Gryphons Friday night win were 25-23, 24-26, 25-20, 25-15 as they were led by a balanced attack with 13 kills each from
Alexander Odle &
Cameron Chadwick and 9 kills each from
Nathan Peters &
William Rocheleau. The Gryphons and Paladins would meet up again on Saturday night where the hosts finished off the weekend with a comfortable straight sets (25-19, 25-14, 25-15) win.
Joshua Glasbergen was the team leader in the match with 8 points. With the wins over the weekend, the Gryphons are back to .500 with a 5-5 record heading into the winter break. The Gryphons men's volleyball team will be back in action in 2025 when they pay a visit to the Nipissing Lakers in North Bay on January 10, 2025.
