BURLINGTON, Ont. – On Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 23), Ontario University Athletics (OUA) announced the All-Stars and major award winners for the 2024 women's rugby season, with a total of eight Gryphons women's rugby players receiving conference-wide recognition as OUA All-Stars, including Addy Holmes who was named "OUA Player of the Year."

Back three player Addy Holmes takes home "OUA Player of the Year" honours for the 2024 season, becoming the first Gryphon since Julia Schell in 2016 to take home OUA MVP honours. Holmes, in her second season as a Gryphon, had a sensational season, scoring a conference-high 15 tries, six more than the next closest player. The criminal justice major from Waterloo was also named an OUA First Team All-Star for the first time.
Alongside Holmes, and making their third appearance on the OUA All-Star team, are First Team All-Stars
Kennedy Feasby,
Taylor McKnight and
Natalie Armatage. For Feasby and McKnight, this marks the third consecutive season they have been recognized as conference First Team All-Stars, while Armatage earns OUA First Team All-Star status for the second time in her career. Centre
Lara Jorgensen rounds out the Gryphons OUA First Team All-Star selections as it marks her second straight season being named to the first team. A trio of Gryphons are featured on the OUA Second Team which includes
Stephanie Svaikauskas securing her spot as an all-star for the second time.
Abby Auger and
Tausani Levale have earned their first provincial all-star nod to round out the eight U of G stars recognized for their outstanding seasons helping lead the Gryphons to a 5-1 record in 2024. The Gryphons are one win away from winning their 18th OUA Championship in school history as they head to Nixon Field in Kingston this Friday (Oct. 25) to battle the defending OUA champion, Queen's Gaels.
