GUELPH, Ont. – In front of a sold-out crowd of 1,265 fans at the Gryphon Centre Arena, the Gryphons men's hockey team skated to a 5-2 win over the Waterloo Warriors in the second edition of the 'Lang Business Cup' in association with the University of Guelph's Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics.

With the Gryphons wearing the 'Lang' alternate jerseys, the capacity crowd were given plenty to cheer about, with rookie forward
Nolan Dann (Cambridge, ON) scoring midway through the 2nd period to give the Gryphons a 2-1 lead. The U of G lead would grow in the 3rd period, thanks to a power play goal from first-year defenceman
Thomas Darcy (Terrebonne, QC), whose first career OUA goal put the Gryphons ahead 3-1. Third-year forward
Ethan Doyle (Whitby, ON) would score a pair of empty netters to help seal the 5-2 win for the Gryphons, who improve to 3-2-0 on the season, while the Waterloo Warriors fall to 1-2-1. Gryphons fourth-year goalie,
Colton Incze, turned away 24 of the 26 shots sent his way for the win. The Gryphons and Warriors will meet up again on Saturday (Oct. 19) to wrap up the home-and-home, with puck drop set for 4pm at the University of Waterloo's Columbia Icefield Arena.
