The win by Guelph snapped U of T's five-game win streak, with six different Gryphon players recording multi-point nights, including three players who had three-point nights, with Anthony Tabak, Jacob Winterton and Nolan Forster all finishing with 1 goal and 2 assists on the night. Tanner Wickware made 21 saves on 25 shots faced for his 6th win of the season (one shy of matching the OUA lead).

Thursday night's game also served as the inaugural edition of the 'Business Cup' – with the Gryphons men's hockey team celebrating the University of Guelph's Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics. Included in the festivities on the night was a ceremonial puck drop, performed at centre ice pre-game by Gryphon Hall of Famer Stu Lang, who was joined by Audrey Jamal, interim Assistant Dean (Strategic Partnerships and Societal Impact) in the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics.

The Gryphons (7-5-0), who now sit 4th in the 10-team OUA West Division standings, will now have a quick turnaround, with yet another U SPORTS Top 10-ranked opponent waiting in the wings. Guelph hits the road for a Friday puck drop in Thorold, Ontario, as they take on the No. 5-ranked Brock Badgers (11-1-0) with game time set for 6pm at Canada Games Park.
