Fresh off an OUA Championship victory and 6th conference title in program history, the Guelph Gryphons men's rugby team now sets their sights on some national bragging rights as they head to Langley, British Columbia this week for the 2023 Canadian University Men's Rugby Championships, hosted by the Trinity Western Spartans from November 15 to 19. The No. 4-seeded Gryphon will take on the hosts and No. 5-seed Spartans Wednesday night (Nov. 15 @ 8pm) in one of the four national quarterfinal matches. At last year's national championships, the Gryphons narrowly defeated the Spartans 32-31 in the third-place match to earn their highest ever finish and a bronze medal at the tournament. The Gryphons will be eyeing another podium position this season as look to continue a season in which they have yet to be on the losing end of a match. Wednesday's quarterfinal match can be seen live online at therugbynetwork.com. The winner of the Gryphons and Spartans match will advance to the semifinal round on Friday, November 17 and take on the winner of the UBC (No. 1-seed)/Calgary (No. 8-seed).
