GUELPH, Ont. - After falling into a 3-0 hole in the opening period, the Guelph Gryphons men's hockey team stormed back to capture a 7-6 win for their third victory in a row. Rookie
Nolan Forster scored a pair of goals in the third and picked up an assist to score a team-high 3 points in the high-octane affair. Despite a late third period push from the Gaels, who scored twice in the final four minutes, the Gryphons improved to 3-2-0 on the season and now sit in a four way tie for third in the OUA West.
The Gryphons scored four goals in the second period, kick started by
Luke Kutkevicius' fourth of the season on the powerplay, to take the lead heading into the second intermission after struggling in the opening frame.

In the third, the Gryphons scored another three in a row, a pair from Forster and the ultimate game-winner from
Giordano Biondi to capture the win over the Gaels. Goaltender
Tanner Wickware turned aside 35 of the 41 shots he faced to earn his second win of the 2023-24 campaign.

Tristan De Jong picked up a pair of assists to add to his 5 points this season while
Nolan DeGurse scored his second of the season to bring his point total to a team-high 9 through five games. Rookie's
Isaac Enright and
Hunter Brazier each also made their debut on the scoresheet in a Gryphon uniform with assists while
Anthony Tabak and
Liam Ham scored to make it six different U of G goal scorers in the game.Â
The Gryphons will look to continue their offensive success next weekend when they take a road trip to Montreal for a pair of road games against the Concordia Stingers and McGill Rebirds. The first match of the two-game trip is on Friday (Oct. 27) against the Stingers before a Saturday night face off with the Redbirds. Both games can be viewed live online at
