LONDON, Ont. – On Thursday night in London, Ontario at the 2022 Vanier Cup awards banquet, a pair of Guelph Gryphon football student-athletes were recognized as U SPORTS All-Canadians.

Harrison Bagayogo, a 6-foot-3, 195 lbs defensive back from Bois-des-Filion, Quebec, earned the title of U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian for a second consecutive season. Bagayogo, a sport and event management major at the University of Guelph, collected 13.5 total tackles and a pair of interceptions, including one for a touchdown to now earn the title of two-time All-Canadian. Bagayogo is currently in his fourth season with the Gryphon football program, and third-year of eligibility, after having arrived on U of G campus back in 2019. The shutdown corner, who just turned 25-years-old on November 22, has put together a sensational Gryphon career during his three seasons of on-field action in 2019, 2021 and 2022.
The other Gryphon student-athlete to earn All-Canadian status on Thursday night was defensive end,
Scott Murray, who was named a U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian.

Murray, a 22-year-old real estate major from Mississauga, was a force on the Gryphon defensive line during the 2022 season, finding his way into opposing backfields for a conference-leading 11 tackles-for-a-loss and 6 sacks (tied for 3rd in the OUA). The 6-foot-2, 230 lbs edge rusher's totals were also good enough for 3rd and 7th in the nation, respectively. Murray, like Bagayogo, is currently in his fourth season with the Gryphon football program, and third-year of eligibility, after having arrived on U of G campus back in 2019. Murray's dominant 2022 season started with an exceptional performance against the No. 1-ranked Western Mustangs back in Week 1, where he tallied 2.5 sacks and 2 tackles-for-a-loss in a game where the Gryphons held the Mustangs to just 155 yards in the air.

Kickoff is set for 1pm on Saturday and can be seen live on CBC.
