Gryphons Women's Soccer 2022 OUA All-Stars
Gryphon midfielder
Cloey Uddenberg earns OUA West First Team All-Star status for a second consecutive season after once again leading the way in the middle of the pitch for the Gryphons in 2022.

Uddenberg, a 19-year-old Richmond Hill, Ontario native, enjoyed an unforgettable rookie season as a Gryphon back in 2021, which culminated in her becoming the
first U of G women's soccer player to ever be named national rookie of the year. Now, in her second season of on-field action with the Gryphons, Uddenberg has continued to impress, helping lead the Gryphons to a 6-2-4 (wins-losses-draws) record during the 2022 regular season, helping Guelph finish the regular season in 3rd-place in the nine-team OUA West Division. The bio-medical science major appeared in 11 of Guelph's 12 regular season games, while also helping the Gryphons earn a playoff win over Windsor in the opening round of the 2022 OUA women's soccer playoffs. This past spring, Uddenberg also took part in CONCACAF Women's World Cup Qualifying where she suited up at the international level with Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Joining Uddenberg on the list of OUA West First Team All-Stars is second-year striker,
Olivia Brown. The Guelph native enjoyed a sensational sophomore campaign with the Gryphons, with the 19-year-old scoring 9 goals in 12 regular season games played. That total tied her for 5th in the conference, and 10th in the country, among the OUA and U SPORTS goal leaders.

The 6-foot-0 human kinetics major ended the 2022 regular season on a memorable run, with 7 goals in 8 games, and continued to impress in the playoffs, scoring in extra time of Guelph's opening round win over Windsor, and then equalizing late against York in the quarterfinals, a game which the Gryphons ultimately fell just short in, losing 5-3 on penalties.
A pair of Gryphons also earn a spot on the list of 2022 OUA West Division Second Team All-Stars. Veteran midfielder,
Sydney VanderHoef, earns OUA All-Star status for the first time in her Gryphon career after a standout 2022 season. VanderHoef, currently in her fourth year of studies and third year of eligiblity, appeared in 9 games during the regular season, and made an impact in all areas of the pitch, including from the penalty spot, where the human kinetics major successfully converted game-winning penalties for the Gryphons in wins over Laurier (Sept. 16) and York (Sept. 25). Rounding out the Gryphon All-Star selections in 2022 is second-year forward,
Christina Gomes. The psychology major from Bradford, Ontario was a key piece of the Gryphon attack in 2022, with the 19-year-old working alongside
Olivia Brown up front, giving the Gryphons one of the most productive pair of attackers in the division. Gomes, who scored twice a season ago as a rookie, finished the 2022 regular season tied for 2nd on the team in goals with 3.
