In the first men's hockey rankings of the 2021-22 season, the Guelph Gryphons men's hockey program debuts at No. 4 in the country, the highest of any OUA team. The Gryphons enter the 2021-22 campaign as the defending Queen's Cup champions, and are off to a 1-0 start to their 2021-22 preseason schedule with a 6-3 win over U of T last week. This week, the Gryphons men's hockey team continues their preseason schedule with a Thursday night home game versus the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks. The Gryphons play a total of four exhibition games before dropping the puck on 2021-22 OUA regular season on November 4.

The Gryphon football team moves back into the national Top 10 thanks to an impressive win on their home field last Saturday night. The No. 8-ranked Gryphons (2-2) will now shift their focus to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues (2-2), who are set to visit Alumni Stadium on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 23) for the final home game of the Gryphon football 2021 regular season schedule.

The Gryphons women's rugby team moves up one spot to No. 7 following their win over York, while men's and women's cross country (No. 1), field hockey (No. 3) and men's soccer (No. 5) all remain unchanged from their previous week's rankings.
