HAMILTON, Ont. - Saturday evening at McMaster University, the Guelph Gryphons women's volleyball team fell in five sets to the Marauders. Set scores were 25-22, 25-15, 21-25, 22-25 & 17-19.
The Gryphons had four different players score in double figures, with
Hazel Atkins (12 points) and
Noa Pijl (12 points) leading the way.
Despite Guelph jumping out to a 2-sets-to-0 lead, the Marauders would claw back to force a decisive fifth set.
With the match tied at 16-16 in the final set, McMaster would take the lead on a block from Rebecca Maxwell before finishing off the match with a kill from Maddie Lethbridge.
The Gryphons (4-4) will now break for exams and Christmas, with their OUA regular season schedule resuming on Saturday, Jan. 12 with a road game at Toronto.
