AJAX, Ont. – The Guelph Gryphons baseball team has saved some of its best play for the chilly days of late October. The red-hot Gryphons completed round-robin play at the OUA Baseball Championships with a 5-2 win over the Ryerson Rams Saturday.
Guelph, which improved to 3-0 and finished first in Pool A, scored all five runs in a decisive sixth inning after trailing 2-0 through the first two frames.

The Gryphons will play Sunday at 10am in one of two OUA semi-finals, with the opponent to be determined.
Fourth-year second baseman
Robert Wolfer led the Gryphons with two RBI and a base on balls, while
Hayden Adair picked up the win after going five strong innings, with two earned runs and two strikeouts. Outfielder
Alexander Devos, shortstop
Brendan Callaghan, and catcher
Tyler Randa each had an RBI in the sixth-inning outburst.
Ryerson starter Jeremias Sucre took the loss.
"This win showed the depth future of the program," said first-year head coach
Dean Mariani. "With only four starters in the lineup, our bench stepped up against Ryerson's ace. Feel confident heading into tomorrow with all 10 pitchers on the staff well-rested and ready to compete."
