OTTAWA, ON - The Guelph Gryphons women's basketball team put together a solid performance Saturday night in Ottawa. In the end, one bad quarter cost them what could have been a memorable road win. The Gee-Gees outscored the Gryphs 20-9 in the 2nd quarter en route to a 71-60 victory. In the other three quarters, the two teams each scored 51 points. With the loss, the Gryphs fall to 1-11 on the season while the Gee-Gees improve to 9-3.

Ashley Wheeler and third year guard
Megan Brenkel each racking up 18 points. The Gee-Gees meanwhile received some big boosts from off their bench, with Jennifer Crowe coming off the pine to pour in 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting while Melina Whishart chipped in with 16 points in 17 minutes of floor time.
The Gryphs finish their weekend road trip to Ottawa 0-2 after tough losses to both the Ravens and Gee-Gees. Guelph will not return home to face Algoma (1-12) on Friday, January 27.
