WATERLOO, ON - Friday night at the University of Waterloo, the Gryphons women's volleyball team lost 3-1 to the Waterloo Warriors. Set scores were 25-22, 23-25, 19-25 & 19-25. With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 1-3 while the Warriors improve to 1-2.
Gryphons third year left side Victoria Golebiowski (Binbrook, ON) led the way for the Gryphs, finishing with a team-high 14 kills and 14.5 points. Rookie Logan Garrick picked up a pair of service aces, as did veterans Maddie Dedecker and Cayte Wilson. Fourth year libero Kayla McMullen had a team-high 15 digs while Chelsea Bott and Libby Donevan each made their presence felt defensively with some strong blocking. The Gryphons were able to take a tight opening set 25-23 before conceding the next three to the Warriors.
After opening the season with four straight road games, the Gryphons will now return to campus for a pair of weekend home games against RMC and Queen's (November 18 & 19).
