HAMILTON, ON - Saturday afternoon in Hamilton, the Gryphons women's lacrosse team improved to 2-1 at the OUA Championship tournament with an 8-6 victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues.

Marissa Kozovski rounded out the scoring for the Gryphons with one goal each to help the Gryphs knock off a tough Varsity Blues squad that finished second in the OUA East during the regular season with a 9-4 record.
The Gryphons led 5-4 heading into the second half but relinquished the lead after Toronto scored twice in the opening 10 minutes. The Gryphons were able to rally shortly afterwards however, and responded with three unanswered goals to pull off the 8-6 win.
The Gryphons will wrap up their 2016 season on Sunday at 10:45am in the 5th place game versus the Queen's Gaels.
