WLAX: Slow Start Costly as Gryphons Downed by Laurier

St. Catharines, ON - The Gryphons Women's Lacrosse team faced a tough Laurier Golden Hawks team on Sunday at Brock University. Unable to recover from a weak first half of play, the final score was 14-4 in favour of Laurier.

After a slow start, the Gryphons displayed an overall increase in intensity, skill and desire to win in the second half, limiting the Hawks to only four goals scored, while scoring four of their own. Goal scorers were 4th years Taylor Kidd, Laurel McGillis and Olivia Kaminski. The Gryphon defence, led by Jess DeMars, had an excellent second half run, working together and playing aggressively to keep the Gryphons in the game. The Gryphons will now travel to Oshawa for the OUA Championship Tournament next weekend.
