Sudbury, Ont. – The Gryphon women's basketball team improved to 4-2 on the season on Friday night in Sudbury with a 67-57 win over the Laurentian Voyageurs who fall to 2-4 on the season.
 
Despite the fact that the Gryphons were unable to knock down shots from the perimeter, going just two of 19 from beyond the arc, the presence inside of Kate MacTavish (Waterloo, Ont.) was enough to carry the Gryphons to the win.  MacTavish finished the night with a game-high 22 points on seven of 14 shooting, to go along with 10 rebounds.  Vanessa Rampado (Niagara Falls, Ont.) also chipped in with 13 points and seven rebounds as the Gryphons were able to win a defensive battle in which both teams were held to under 30% shooting on the night.
 
The Gryphon women's basketball team will now head to North Bay for a matchup with the Nipissing Lakers Saturday (Nov. 29) at 6pm.
