Gryphons use balanced scoring attack to take down Western 6-1

LONDON, Ont. (November 22, 2013) – The Gryphon women's hockey team hit the road tonight for a weekend doubleheader. The Gryphons opened the weekend with a convincing 6-1 defeat over the Western Mustangs at the Thompson Arena. The Gryphons move to 10-3-0 on the season while the Mustangs drop to 7-5-1.
 
Guelph spread the scoring around against the Mustangs, with six different Gryphons finding the back of the net behind the Western netminders. Along with the larger number of goal scorers a pair of Gryphons had three points on the night with Jessica Pinkerton and Kaitlyn Mora both recording a goal and two assists. Stephanie Nehring made 14 saves for the win. The Gryphons outshot the Mustangs 33 to 15.
 
The Gryphons now travel down the 401 to Windsor for a game against the Windsor Lancers Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
