The Gryphon women's lacrosse team picked up their first win of the regular season today with a 15-12 victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues.
The Gryphons traded goals with the Blues for the first half and ended up by one at half hime with a score of 8-7. The second half saw the Gryphons attack mesh together and work well to out score the Blues and win their first game of the season. Â
The Gryphons transition improved, and their defence was once again solid. Player of the game for the Gryphons was
Alyssa Nevills who notched one goal and four assists. Scoring for the Gryphons were:
Jade Sullivan and
Dana Skyvington with four goals each,
Amy Johnson with three goals,
Staci Morris with two and
Lydia Kovacs and Alyssa Nevills with one each. Â
Next up for the Gryphons at Queen's next weekend are the Queens Gaels on Saturday, the McMaster Marauders and a rematch against Western on Sunday.
