Feb. 16: Brock 84 – Guelph 55
St. Catharine's – The Guelph Gryphon women's basketball team dropped a 84-55 final tonight to the Brock Badgers in St.Catharine's. The Gryphons drop to 9-12 on the season, while the Badgers move to 14-7.
Brock led by two just points, 9-7, with just over four minutes left in the first quarter, before putting together a 24-7 run over the next nine minutes leading 33-14 with 5:32 left in the second quarter. The Badgers would extend their lead to 42-23 after 20 minutes, which they would never surrender.
Brock shot 45.7% (32-for-70) from the field including 9-for-20 (45.0%) from beyond the arc. Guelph shot just 33.9% (21-for-62) for the game. The Badgers also forced Guelph to 25 turnovers leading to a 23-6 margin in points of turnnovers.
Jasmine Douglas (Guelph, Ont.) led the team with 14 points and nine rebounds while
Kara Muhlhausen (Belleville, Ont.) was the only other Gryphon in double-digits with 10 points.
Up next the Gryphons will host the Windsor Lancers on Saturday (Feb. 19) in their last regular season game. Tip off is set for 2:00 p.m.
