Murphy scores pair as Gryphons outlast Badgers, 4-3

The Gryphon men's soccer team won their fourth OUA game in a row this afternoon defeating the Brock Badgers 4-3 in St. Catharine's, Ont.

Gryphons move to the top of the OUA West with a 7-3-1 regular season record.

The Gryphons led 3-0 at the half after a great display of attacking soccer, Robbie Murphy (Ottawa) scored two goals and Dena Iezady scored from a penalty after great work from Max Bair Marshall in winning the penalty kick.

The Gryphons did not play well in the second half and almost let Brock back into the game, Brock scored three goals including a penalty kick themselves, which saw Gryphon defender Brandon Rollocks sent off for a professional foul that led to the PK.  The Gryphons battled out the win with Jacob Stolle notching the fourth and deciding goal.

Next up for the Gryphons is the McMaster Marauders in Hamilton this Sunday at 3:15 p.m.
