Sam started coaching the Gryphons in 1994. From 1987-1992, Sam was a player-coach for the Gryphons. He also enjoyed a stint in Junior A Box Lacrosse with the Hamilton Bengals and won 2 national championships in box lacrosse in Bantam and Midget. As head coach of the Gryphons men's lacrosse program, Sam has led U of G to five national titles, winning the Baggataway Cup in 2014, 2013, 2008, 2000 and 1995.
