Jason Kerr

Jason Kerr currently serves as the Associate Head Coach at the University of Guelph and with the Speed River Track & Field Club.  In six years at Guelph, Kerr has turned both the University and Speed River elite programs into national sprints and hurdles powerhouses.  The Gryphons have won 9 Collegiate Provincial (OUA) team championships and 6 National (USPORTS) team championships during Kerr’s tenure with the Gryphons.  
 
Kerr has coached national collegiate champions in every sprint and hurdle event, including collegiate and Canadian records in the women’s 60mH, 4x200m and 4x400m, as well as the men’s 4x400m.  Nationally, Kerr has coached Canadian outdoor champions at 100m, 200m, 100mH, 400m and 400mH.  He has also coached three 4x100m relay teams to current national records at the U18 and U23 level.  At the international level, Kerr has coached athletes to medal performances at World Youth, World Junior, Pan Am Junior, NACAC, NACACU23, World Relays and Para Pan Am Championship events.  He has also worked in numerous National coaching roles, including the 2015 and 2017 FISU World University Games, and the 2019 NACACU23 Championships.    
 
Guelph’s sprinting reputation has been cemented over the last few seasons.  The Gryphons are coming off a clean sweep of all four collegiate sprint relays at the 2019 USPORTS championships, with 3 of the 4 teams breaking Canadian national and/or interscholastic records.   
 
Prior to his career in coaching, Kerr completed a Masters Degree in Kinesiology at Western University in London, Ontario, where he was a successful Collegiate and National level sprinter.
